Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Past brides.. has anyone had to have their ceremony and reception in the same room???

My reception is in the Briar Fox - and when I booked she said our ceremony would be in one of the chapels (with a chapel fee). We wanted the ceremony in a separate room which is one of the reasons we booked w/ FH - Somehow, our BM wrote BF in the ceremony part... and now they are saying we can't change it... I am FLIPPING - I left a message for Dave. (remaining calm) I wouldn't have booked there if the ceremony & reception room were going to have to be in the same room!!!!
i know this isn't the END of the world, and I have not been even CLOSE to a bridezilla..haven't asked for alot, but this is NOT what i wanted and I'm really upset!!

Not to mention, is it fair to be charged a 'chapel' fee, when you aren't using one of the chapels?!?!?!

Hello Ladies & happy holidays,

As we look at our budget, after many bumps along the way ($4000 to the vet and other mishaps) we are worried about affording wedding rings. THere is NO money left to put towards them and if we end up somehow with extra money there are other places this money needs to go. Anyway, I originally was going to go to a friend's father who is a jewler, but now I am thinking of going to Kay's or Zales since I received store cards and can charge the rings. Is anyone else get rings from these stores? Also, on their sites I see a lot of white gold but no platinum, I am hoping in store there will be a wider selection. Is anyone getting white gold??

TIA!
Genine

Also try Whitehall Jewelers in Roosevelt Field and Sunrise Mall they're going out of business, we were looking at rings and could have gotten each ring for $400.00. Rings were originally 1k+

A lot of people I know have white gold! I had a white gold e ring but had it changed to platinum ONLY because the pH of my skin is fukked up and it kept turning yellow on me. We had to keep redipping it and it just made more sense to have it reset in plat. I never would have done that otherwise.

My DH's ring was $400 and white gold. You can get a ring for him NO PROBLEM under $500. (Unless he wants diamonds. DH isn't the diamond type - more the carharrt type!)

My sister went to zales for her rings -- they are good quality but they charge more and you get less there. Talk to the jeweler you know, go to a bunch of chain stores ... check out whitehall if they are going out of business .. and check out gold ol gold in massapequa -- great place that has been recommended to me by lots of people. my mom has used them for several things as well.

I'm not a past bride, but, our Ceremony and Reception are both in the same room. I wasn't even aware that they had a 'Chapel'. They showed us a room that was across from the photo studio but I think you could only use that if you have a small amount of people coming to your wedding. That is probably why your Reception room is your Ceremony room.

That wasn't discussed as a matter of fact when we were shown the rooms, our BM said 'so the ceremony will be in either of the 2 chapel rooms' ... They aren't officially 'chapels'..but they are set up w/ chairs on either side and an ceremony area in the front....

Yeah, IDK. The # of ppl in your party is the only thing I can think of. I know that we're having 195 ppl. That amount of ppl isn't going to fit in the 'chapel' and we're using the Briar Fox for our CH so the only option was to use our Reception room for the Ceremony.
If it REALLY bothers you that much, see if you can get in touch with someone and tell them what the BM told you when you booked.

Also, are you being charged the 'Chapel' fee??

Yeah. We're being charged the fee. I think they should change the wording on that though. They're really charging you to have your ceremony on their premesis. Plus, it's kinda nice to not have to pay for floral arrangements.

I didn't see that other chapel room you're referring too. I only saw that small room across from the photo studio and I think they told me that it holds like 50-75 people. Definately not alot.

There are 2 rooms -- one has a door/window that opens and you can look down onto the Winter Garden Pavillion - the other one is through that room and has skylights I believe..
Of course if it ends up being 65 degrees or higher, I can have my ceremony outside and wont have to worry about this.but on March 15th, an outdoor ceremony is highly unlikely! LOL!
I never asked how many those rooms could fit, I just assumed my party would fit since she showed them to me as an option - I'm waiting for Dave to call me back, so I'll see what he says...

I bought FH ring from Kays and it is white gold with diamonds going across. It's very nice and it was only about $800 and that was not on sale. Now is the best time to go because all of these stores are having such great deals. Kays keep sending me coupons and catalogs. I may end up getting my DOJ there just because the prices are so great.

GL

PS don't stress if you can't get your rings now. I have about 2 friends that wasn't able to get their rings for the wedding(both for different reasons) and they bought some really inexpensive titanium rings and after the wedding, they got what they really wanted. They still use the titanium rings for their everyday jewelry too.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

if you are only having 130 - 140 pp they should let you use the other room for your ceremony. i am having about the same and was given the smaller room for my ceremony and then moving into the slightly larger room for cocktail hour and then finally the wgp for the reception. i dont see why they would have you in the same room. i would definitly fight it.

i am having 123 people at my wedding and am having my ceremony in the smaller 'chapel' room (the one with the high skylight ceiling). my cocktail hour will be in the larger room (lantern gallery) and the ceremony room. my reception is in the winter garden pavilion.

I know that is the MAx..but i think that's too much for that room to be comfortable.
I would try to keep it at 160 or under to be comfortable.

I know that is the MAx..but i think that's too much for that room to be comfortable.
I would try to keep it at 160 or under to be comfortable.

yea i wasnt even gonna invite 180 actually but i wasnt sure what was the most comfortable. bc i was undecided if i should invite all my 2nd cousins and some coworkers. well i guess i still have time lol

i know i have asked this before, but for girls who had their reception in the briar fox, how many guests did you have? i know it fits 180 but i want people comfortable. my fam and friends all dance so i also dont want the dance floor so packed where noone can move lol.
