That's great, you ladies are on top of things. I am still waiting until next week to start the rest of my wedding planning activities (the parents meet for the first time this Saturday). I do have a list of vendors to take a look at...so some of the research work is done. Hopefully I will be able to post some accomplishments soon.

Does anyone have any recommendations for DJ's that may accommodate a multi-cultural wedding reception? I have a lot of CD's of music they can use, but I am not sure if DJ's normally do that?

I recommend 'Then Til Now'. We're having a multicultural wedding too and taking our own cds. Ask for Steve. He was really easy to talk to and open to our requests.

For you ladies getting married in August of 2006...when do you plan on ordering your invitations and how far in advance should you send them out?

I know it is early but I am trying to organize what needs to be done and when. Any help would be great.

You are getting married on the same day as me and you have done so much more than me.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about ideas but only physically completed getting the church, reception hall, photographer/videographer, and compiling the invite list for the wedding. We are in the process of looking for a DJ and today looking for dresses. Hopefully by the end of January I will have crossed off a lot of things on the list.

Congrats on getting a lot of stuff done! Also, since you are the same date as myself when do you plan on sending out the invitations?

I'm new to this whole chat thing - but this is great! Our wedding is being held at the Huntington Townhouse in Long Island. I'm behind on some things, but the things I have so far are:

Ceremony and Officiants (Interfaith)
Reception

Honeymoon in Hawaii
Picked out bridesmaid dresses
Finally finished my invitation list with all addresses

(Almost finished)

No bridal gown yet ... I know. I guess everyone beats you up for that. I'll have to figure something out. I want to lose weight before getting a dress because if I go try on dresses with my mom, she'll just call me fat and tell me to get into shape and she'll just got all upset that her litttle girl is not keeping up with herself :(

Oh well...

My fiance does not like wedding planning and has made that very clear. So I am kinda on my own.

I saw somewhere that you guys get together or whatnot? Is this true?

YAY i've been looking all over for a date twin and I found one...YAYAYAY. I am soo happy i have found my dress...maggie sottero...my hall, vanderbilt, church, videographer/photographer Silver fox, Limos royalty and bridesmaid dresses, levkoff 654. YAY. fun times ladies. good luck to all of you!

In the process of looking for a DJ, my dress and BM dresses. It is not as easy as I thought it was, especially finding my dress. Hopefully I will be done with at least the dress parts by next week...though we will see. Have a great weekend girls.
