So...what is everyone having for their menu???

I am doing the whole gold (isn't that what it's called?) menu...with an added Italian station. Plus I am taking out the Chinese section and may add some sort of German section!

I am having surf and turf for dinner, plus the chicken and fish. I am having the V trays for dessert and all the cordials/liquors that are standard....one thing I like is that we can tell her what our fav. alcohols are. For us, we are going to have Lemonicello for the cordials as we all drink it every weekend after dinner and a lot of Captain Morgan! Red/White wine on the tables.

They are opening up the third bar in the foyer and have a rolling bar in the bridal suite.

My big surprise is the NYC to Go down in the lobby!

In terms of Maitre D's - I think they said we are getting 3? And two bridal attendants.

PS - does everyone know that there is a hidden staircase that goes to the Bridal Suite?

leese-the candlebras were silver....They were pretty but just not exactly what I was looking for...I actually put my prototype centerpiece on the table & it really went well...I just have to get it made bigger & I am going to add votives around it! I think it will be so elegant!

We are also doing the Gold Menu with an added the full Viennese hour...I am not sure what stations we are going to do yet, bc FH & I haven't really discussed it!

I didn't know there was a secret staircase...Where does it begin?? I know there is the elevator, but never saw the staircase...Now you MUST share!

When I was there yesterday, they were painting the ballroom behind where we sit...They were also waxing the floors & cleaning the carpets! So glad to see everything looked beautiful! The white lights were still up in he Garden room too!

Ok well first things first, thanks for taking pics... can we all please make an oath to continue taking pics when we go there? :) I really wished that the showcase was going to be there....

I am glad that they are painting. In terms of the lights... all of us Feb through April brides MUST MUST MUST remember to start badgering them (in a loving way) to keep them up for us. They usually take them down in the beginning of March...but George said that sometimes they keep them up.

Ok...when I was there for my tasting....they showed me that there is a staircase behind the DJ/Band area that leads up to the Bridal Suite... I WISH I had gotten a photo of that.

So, you can take the elevator and I think you can sneak up through the stairs.....

Does anyone know where the bride and groom come through? Does it matter if it's the right or left doors? How FUNNY would it be to come through the hidden doorr.... everyone will expect you through the other ones and then BOOM you are in the room?

Marianne told me that all the girls who have been to a million weddings at Russo's get sad that they can't come up from the floor or through the platform. Since my cousin just did that at Russo's...I am not so sad.. But my only thing that I hate is when the bride and groom don't have room to fit between tables and she has to go before him... and with me and my 30 tables...I can just see us ending up seperating!!!

I vow to take pictures everytime I go there! I will be there for a wedding in April, so it will be nice to see how things are done from the other side...

That is so cool that there is a secret staircase but wouldn't it be hard to get through it if the band or dj was there??? I think the bride & groom come through the main doors but who knows...I am glad to be walking in & not coming through the floor...I can only see you though with your 30 tables!!!

Last night it was set up for 170 & it looked nice so I could get a great idea of what the room will look like for me!

George wasn't there yesterday, only Marianne & Peter....I am sure if we request the lights to stay up, they will...I just hope they do not reflect in the pictures considering the majority of my picures will be taken there!

Yes, a majority of mine will be there too. But I bet they won't be a problem.

My only sadness is having us not being able to make it side by side...even when you come in and go up the stairs for the dance floor, I'll go before him.

I think I'll have him hold at the doors for like a couple of seconds for those 'together' poses...that way, I can pretend we didn't have to squeeze by!

I really want to make the outside foyer a little causal seating area. I am wondering if they will set up a few cocktail tables for me there if I ask... with all those people, it would be great to have a 'get away spot' for those that don't want to hear all the music!

By the way, met with 12th night last night - he used to be with SilverFox and I really loved the work. Going to check out all the 'approved' vendors next week at the showcase.

Oh...the hidden staircase is not behind them but rather to the side (if you are looking at the band/dj, the door is to the right of them...but on the side,not behind them). So you can just go right up from the seating area...

ahh now I know where you are talking about with the staircase...

I am sure the photographers will do something with the pictures so it dosn't look like you are one step ahead...The main staircase though, you should be able to be next to Frank walking...Erin & I did it on Tuesday when we were there & we had no problems...

I know that the garden room is going to be set up with the tables & chairs so people have a getaway place if they don't want to stay up in the reception room for some reason...Think of it this way, I bet there is not one place they can't be besides the Bridal Suite bc we have the run of the entire place...I will let you know what happens when I go to the wedding in April....

I am so glad you are looking at photographers again...Don't let the one leave a bad taste! I am going to see my cousin on Tuesday for the flowers...It should be ineteresting...I am still making up my list of what we need for flowers...do you have an idea of what you want for your BOK?

I have been thinking of hotel blocking lately...What hotels are you thinking of?? I am going to look at the Wingate Inn...I have heard so many good things about them

We are having the enhancement menu and we dont have to make any choices as to what stations we want. AS far as the passing odourves we dont have to choose a certain amount out the choices,,Marianne offered us all the choices..Marianne was great to work with and whatever we asked for we got..

For dinner, we are starting with the antipasto,salad, pasta, sorbet...and the dinner choices will be: chilean sea bass,shrimp scampi,filet mignon,veal, chicken, and lobster


I hope you girls arent paying extra for the seat covers,menu's on table and linen's, right???

When I was there, Marianne told me that for no extra cost they will put our pix on the menu's at the table, in case any of you were interested...

We aren't doing the seat covers but I was never told anything about the free picture on the menu....I was going to make my own up though on my computer at home...I am also working with Marianne & she is a doll! I feel so comfortable with her & she is so honest, I love it!

What about your cake...Has anyone decided what they are getting or the look of it??

marianne did tell me that they started charging extra for the hard icing on the cake....,,,,but she said that she can probably knock the exta charge off,,,I am telling you,,marianne does whatever you ask,,she is unbelievable!!!
