I think you're next! Cant wait to see pictures! What do you have left to do?

omg, i don't even know where to start:

-meet with organist at church to talk about music
-menu selections for RH
-make sure all the GM get measured for their tuxes
-still waiting for RSVP's so can't work on final count or seating charts of place cards yet
-pay remaining balance for TC
-call photog. to fax over their insurance to TC
-call photog. to set up last appt with our actual photographers
-meet with Tommy's Tunes next week to go over song lists
-fill out online forms for Duet with must take photos and whatnot
-Pay remaining balances for EVERYBODY :(
-Make my chocolate bar favors
-Make my table number signs (places that we've been to, scrapbook style - why did I put this on my plate???)
-make place cards when I can
-make an online photo book for the guest book

I think that's it... is that enough to do in 23 days????

oh how exciting- dont worry you will get everything done!
i never did a tasting- but my questions is..
when you are going over your menu, do you get to do a tasting to pick what you want?

Re: Thatched cottage thread

We just did a tasting a couple of weeks ago. I did it for my mom and FH because I've eaten there a bunch of times and know how good the food is!

We got to taste the chicken florentine and the salmon from the main entrees plus so many different appetizers and sushi it was just amazing!

The only thing you really have to pick for your menu is what type of chicken or beef you want. I think FH and I had already decided that looking at the menu!

Re: Thatched cottage thread

can i request a food tasting at anytime since ive never had their food?
Ive heard such great things about it but I cant see picking out the menu w/o going to a food tasting first.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

you can try. I've heard mixed answers about if they let you taste after you've signed the contract

You definitely can ask for a food tasting after you've signed the contract. We booked back in September but didn't do our food tasting until a couple of weeks ago (middle of June). No problem at all - they were very accomodating!

When I went for my tasting (prior to booking) it was just me and my mother and they gave us the stuffed chicken and the salmon entrees. I would just specify that you want to taste a variety of the entrees to help your decision

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Gabncarl Best of luck!!!!! Cant wait to hear all about your day! =)

As for tasting I did mine before I booked, but also heard mixed reviews about getting one after you book...doesnt hurt to ask though! I too only got two choices, the chicken w/spinach and the salmon... And there were 6 of us!!! I think they only give two entrees no matter what and fill you up on the CH stuff, which was fine by me lol. Probably would have asked to try the stuffed chicken though had known prior.

I was there two weeks ago to see how my CP's looked on the tables and I took pics of the room all set up with fh's phone I will have to see if I can post them later when he gets home! But the place looked BEAUTIFUL!!! and the swans were swimming out in the water during their CH hour... I got all misty eyed! lol

Re: Thatched cottage thread

I think right now we're leaning towards the chicken stuffed with mushrooms - they didn't offeri to us at the tasting but I've had it there before and I LOVE it!

I think for the beef we are just doing the bordelais (sp?) sauce one.

Honestly, I can't imagine people even still being hungry after all the CH food!

I got so excited last time I was there a couple of weeks ago, I said to my mom and FH 'I want it to be November already!!!'

Don't stress - they will definitely let you have a tasting. I just reminded Andre that I never had one. He asked if I wanted to wait till my 3 month meeting since it is rapidly approaching but FH and my mom didn't want to wait.
