Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hi all,Just wondering... I just hit the 6 month mark this month... I vaguely remember someone saying I am supposed to have a 6 month meeting or I should get a packet of info from them? Or am I confusing it with 3 months? I haven't received anything yet if it is 6 mo. am I supposed to contact them?
And as for indian station... I havent heard about this either! ... I dont know how I feel about it, I am not a huge fan of most indian food

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I think you get the info at the 3 month mark. At least I hope so too since I just past 6 months and didn't get anything
I haven't heard about the Indian food station either. Hopefully they won't force it on us - I don't like Indian food at all and FH is allergic to curry........

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Due to the recent thread about the bad review at TC, I just want to say that there is a reason we booked our weddings at TC. I have always loved the food there and I don't expect my opinion to change.I also have a friend who was at the same wedding as the original poster of the bad review. He called me Sat morning to tell me the wedding was great - the food was great and the service was great. It's all a matter of opinion. As far as there not being enough food, he said to me Sat morning that it was the first wedding he's ever been too where the guests were offered 2nd and 3rd helpings of the food, so I am confused about her saying that there wasn't enough of it.
Just a reminder to take everything with a grain of salt...........

Re: Thatched cottage thread
don't even sweat it.. don't let it get to you!!! no one is going to sleep/snore during your wedding. everyone was extremely professional. the food was great and everyone has been raving about it. guess what, at least one person at your wedding may not like the food, who cares! she got something that was undercooked, it happens. but please don't let it bother you for one second.. like you said.. there IS A REASON you picked the tc and it's an amazing place with great food.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Old married lady posting here .... we had the Indian Station, I didn't even know it was there!Someone told me they loved the Indian Station - don't worry if you don't like Indian Food -- there is soooooooo much food at the cocktail hour that if someone doesn't like Indian food, they won't have it. I don't think they ever even told us about it, it was just there.
I don't know how anyone could ever say there's not enough food at the TC, everyone told me they never saw so much food in their lives, and that they were stuffed before dinner.
All of your weddings are going to be beautiful! Enjoy them and definitely don't stress about extras - there is soooo much included, there is no need for extras if they are out of your budget.... if you do get them great, but if you can't, it really won't matter!

I was just talking about this with FH, and he was like, I could care less, I am confident we made the right choice, but if it was jericho terrace, or North Ritz or (insert RH hall here) I bet all the girls getting married there would be getting told to put their 'big girl panties' on too.
Like someone said before, just take it with a grain of salt... Not saying anyone was wrong with their post, nor that they are right... its all matter of opinion. Not everyone is going to be happy with everything.

Absolutely - we all booked TC because we loved it - more than any other RH we saw. I am happy and proud to be having my wedding there. We're never going to make everyone happy so why even try!
What actually makes me laugh is that those of us who are getting married at TC took her post with more grace and less arguing about it than some of the other posters. I guess we are all happy with our choice, regardless of what she thinks about it.
Oh and what's really funny is that she was complaining about the beef and my friend from work said he was so happy because when they were serving the beef, they had two cuts of it, one rare and one medium and he was super-impressed by that! Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Edited because I apparently forgot how to spell!

Does anyone know what you have to bring with you for the 3 month meeting (if anything)? Do we need the insurance certificates and copy of invite then?

Hi. In the letter I got today, it says you have to bring your approximate half balance. They also give you a 'protocol' to fill out and bring with you.( It's a form where you fill in parents names, bridal party names, if you are doing cake cutting, boK toss etc...) They say you should also have any vendors fax over their insurance to them. Let me know if you have any other questions. BTW - am I the only lucky one to get a random FM from the girl with the TC thread before???!!!

There was a thread on the BHB board entitled 'NOT impressed with thatched cottage' - I can't find it now so it may be gone. But she was complaining about a wedding she went to Friday night - there wasn't enough food, it wasn't good, the chef was sleeping in the hallway, etc..... whatever.
The funny thing is that a friend of mine was at the very same wedding the OP was at. He called me Sat morning to tell me how wonderful it was, how great the food was, he's all excited to go there for my wedding, etc., etc., etc.
Last I saw this afternoon, the post was getting a little bit ugly. What I found most amusing is that a couple of us TC brides posted responses which were nothing but nice and cordial. It was the other posters who jumped in and were fighting with each other about the post....aahh the drama that is LIW sometimes!
Anyway, don't let it get to you. TC is beautiful and the food is great. We will all have amazing weddings there.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hi...I'm not a Thatched cottage bride, but I did read the comments recently, and wanted to say, I was there about 3 weeks ago for a tasting and the food was great. We ended up not booking there though b.c my family thought it was too far away. The soy wrapped sushi was prob the best I've tasted anywhere and they serve their entrees so elegantly (salmon shaped as a fish). Hope this helps...
