Re: Thatched cottage thread
red velvet was not an included choice for us - so we went with devil's food with cannoli cream filling with chocolate chips, and buttercream icing - IT WAS the BEST wedding cake I had ever tasted! YUM!

I ordered carrot cake with whip cream. my FH does not like butter cream frosting. I'll let you know how it is
A past TC bride told me it was excellent and I thought it was a little different :)

Umm You might be able to get that for a sunday day... Think I was quoted $70-72 for a sunday in Nov and that was before the economy went down the tubes. (but that quote is from like 2 years ago for this nov... not sure if it changes from year to year) So I would try ! Whats the worst they could say! HTH

ITA. I think it would probably be ok for a Sunday afternoon. I know they have Sunday brunch wedding packages for like $55++ pp.

I would just go down there. I have heard a lot of people say they lag on responding to emails. I booked a while ago for a fri in november and I am no where near that price. But I would still call or go down there to check, might be a possibility during off season!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I think when you book in advance to secure the date you pay a lot more. But when you book the RH within 4-6 months of your actual wedding its MUCH cheaper at a lot of places.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Ok girls- I need your help. I am coming down to the wire here- ONE WEEK FROM TODAY I WILL BE GETTING HITCHED. The TC called me today with my total balance. It would be an additional 475 for the chair covers. I really want them cause I think it would give the room the overall feel that I am going for but im not sure that its a smart move on my part to dish out 475 more. What would you do? Past TC brides who had them or did not have them..Did it make a difference?

Re: Thatched cottage thread
i didn't have the chair covers and i still thought everything looked great. it's your last minute decision to make though, by the time i was making my final payment i was beyond broke, otherwise i might have thought about it. i honestly think though that it will still look great.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
That's a tough call - I like the look of chair covers, but $475 is a lot of money. Do you have to let them know today??How excited are you? What else do you have left to do?

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Thanks ladies. I'm not broke yet but would be if I dished out for the chair covers. LOL I just have this image in my mind of what I want the room to look like and that image includes chair covers!I am getting super excited. Everything is done for this week. Next week will be busy with appts... I have to drop off my items at the TC, see my flower arrangements, and pick up my dress, mani, pedi...all that good stuff. My dress still isn't fitting right so thats a concern of mine but hopefully they will get it right this week.
most of my stuff is done
I almost feel like I am forgetting to do something! Tonight FH and I are going out to dinner to celebrate our last weekend as singles
Have a great weekend everyone

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hey all,So i know we were talking about how wide the top of the cake would be, so that we could order the right sized cake topper.....
The top of the cake is 6 inches and the topper should be no more than 5 inches according to the thatched cottage:)

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Yes they do but only the bare basics. I might make my own depending on if there is another small party going on in that small room. I dont want to be supplying someones sweet 16 with good stuff!ETA: Just wanted to add they only supply them for the ladies room
