the website i was looking at for mongrams will recommend a size but you need to know tha diameter of the top of the cake first.....
One of my sister's friends is a professional baker. She said the standard size for the top layer of a round wedding cake is 6 inches. Hope this helps.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I don't know if you guys would know anything about this, but since making my final payment yesterday I had 2 cancellations, 3 people in total. Do I just take it as a loss, or do you think the TC will be able to throw something in for free? It's not too big of a deal, it just s u c k s.Also, I had a great experience yesterday. I dropped everything off and met with Sandy, who is the nicest person I have ever met in my life. She got everything perfect and TC looks beautiful. Everything looks great and I left there so excited now for the wedding!

I wish I knew the answer for you. Hopefully, they'll be able to do something for you. I'd call them ASAP and tell them you are now 3 fewer people and see what happens.
Are you getting excited?

well, they didnt have to make the dinners yet so i dont see why they would have to charge you....unless they order a certian amount of stuff for each wedding..

Re: Thatched cottage thread
So what do the chairs look like now? To me, what I've last seen looks no different than what I first saw. What are the differences??Do you think chocolate lines will be too dark with the dark chairs?

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Do you think it's strange if I call TC and ask them to do a tasting now? I've been there a bunch of times already and when we booked, FH just trusted me that I said the food was really good - now he wants to go and taste.Do you think it's weird?
