Re: Thatched cottage thread
I did that because we didnt want our table to be crowded - we want people to be able to come over to us...and not have to worry about bumping into other people....you know?

I have ToniAnn also--at least that's who I booked with. Haven't really been back to meet with anyone since, so I guess she is still it!

Unfortunately, I will say that one thing I did not lke about TC is that we dealt with different people every time. We booked with ToniAnn and she was supposed to be our BM. Andre did our tasting. We met with Andre another time...and several other people.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I feel like all the bm's sound pretty great. I still can't get over the fact that FH and I did not try to get some of our extra's thrown in at the booking! I am really bumped about the number of people at a table. FH and I only wanted 10 people at a table which means we would def. need more tables, in turn more $$. Are the tables pretty big - I really can't remember.?: What hotel is everyone using for your out of town guests and the night of the wedding?
Also, does TC provide any votives for the tables? I heard some places do that.

Oh I have met with Andre every time I have been there
. He only missed the tasting because I had to cancel the original day with him and the only day I could go was his day off. But then again I always ask for an appointment with him or I say appointment with my BM and they give me him.

I didnt get any extras thrown in either, I tried but they said they couldnt add much with the price they gave me already. I heard they tend to throw things in at the very end though, not sure how true it is, but thats what I have heard. Havent heard anything about votives, They gave me a website to order them cheap though ... candle4less . com.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I'm using the Huntington Hilton for the OOT guests. It was very important to FH that we have a bar available if people didn't want the night to end, and the Marriott's bar closes at 12:30 or 1 am. Our wedding doesn't end till midnight so that wasn't going to work for us.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
How far is the Hilton? Does anyone know when the renovations at the 'Chalet' is supposed to be done? I've heard the rooms are supposed to be decent and I figured it would be the most convenient... does the Hilton offer a shuttle or do you have to hire one?

Re: Thatched cottage thread
The Chalet looks shady - but the rooms are clean - I checked it out and listed it as an option for my guests.I also listed the Hilton Homewood Suites [plainview] - they have suites there - and that is where we are staying.

The Hilton is about 10.5 miles away. The Hilton does not offer a free shuttle, but you can arrange to use theirs (I forgot the price) - it's either an 11 or 14 passenger van (again I forgot). I'm not using the Hilton shuttle though because I have too many OOT people staying at the hotel.

It's good to know that they have a shuttle you can pay for! How far in advance do you need to block rooms?

Re: Thatched cottage thread
They won't block them until a year out, so that's the earliest you can do it. It depends on if you're on a holiday weekend or some other big event. I did mine at just under a year.Welcome New Vendors
