I am going back and forth between doing it that way and legally taking FHs name but professionally keeping my maiden name. I haven't decided what to do yet....I love my last name and don't want to lose it.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hey, ladies! I just wanted to say TC was amazing. The food was great, especially at cocktail hour, which we got to enjoy a bit. Everything goes fast! There were a few minor mishaps. They apparently misplaced one bag I brought to the final meeting the Monday before. My ringbearer never got his pillow, so I was a little upset about that, but I got over it. In the bag with the pillow was our cake server and knife set, so the maitre'd came up to tell me they could not find that...but they found it in time for the cake-cutting, so it worked out. The morning was rainy but the sun came out for pics and TC is beautiful for outside pics, as you all know! We had the ceremony outside. The maitre'd asked us what we wanted, and as soon as we said we wanted it outside, he went to get it all set up. I did hear that the prime rib at dinner was a little too rare... I know this is all over the place, but I am trying to cover everything! That is all I can think of for now. Overall, they get an A! Everyone told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to! The beauty of the place alone made it amazing.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
You look stunning and the day look perfect!!!Can I ask you a quick question before your off to your honeymoon? Ya know those three awkward tables by the entrance (to the left of the room by the DJ)that look like they stand alone on the seating chart? Did you seat anyone there or did you leave it empty? Im trying to figure out what to do. Thanks and best of luck to you!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Unfortunately, I was back to work Monday and the HM is not until the summer. We do need help planning a weekend getaway if anyone has suggestions! Anyway, we only had a little over 100 people so we did not have tables there...they used that space to set up the ice cream bar.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
AWESOME!!! So would you recommend I do the same with the tables? I have 100 guest as well.I have been SO confused over what I should do once I saw the seating chart. It almost looks like if you sat people there they wouldn't be involved in the party! LOL
about a little get away- do you guys like wine? I am taking my FH to the North Fork vineyards this weekend for his bday. After the vinyards we will check into a B&B in Greenport and then go to a restaurant for dinner :)
A night in the city could be fun too-
I heard the glen clove mansion is cool too and they have a pub in it.

Now we're talking! I love your ideas...especially the 1st one that you're doing. May I ask the name of the B&B? Right now, we are looking at a special Gurney's is doing for Easter weekend. I have never been there!
P.S. I recommend doing the same as I did if you can. I feel like it would have been weird to have tables there.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I have never been to Gurneys but I heard you can get a nice spa treatment there. The North Fork is so nice this time of year. You can stop at ‘Love Lane’ in Mattituck and there is a nice cheese shop and chocolate shop and then hit a vineyard (or a couple) and enjoy!!! We are staying at the Bartlett House in Greenport but there are a whole bunch of places to stay: http://www.northfork.org/Lodgingbb.html
I wanted to stay in Greenport because we are going out to eat at the Frisky Oyster at night http://www.thefriskyoyster.com/ and plan to have a couple of drinks so this way we won’t have to drive.
Thank you so much- the seating assignments were driving me nuts. Now I know what to do

Re: Thatched cottage thread
i am having 150 guests and not putting anyone at those tables either - because i thought it would be weird, instead i am going to put my memorial table there.
