Re: Thatched cottage thread
hey ladies!!! So, I went to a friend's wedding last night at the Thatched! It was awesome! The food was really really good and the service was excellent all night. Everything looked beautiful. The way that they serve the food (the french service they tell us about) is really cool--I've never seen it before at any other CH I've been to. I had a great time and it made me so excited for our wedding!!! Let me know if you have questions about anything!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Unfortunately, FH said he was grabbing the camera and didn't---go figure! The cocktail hour was amazing----I highly recommend the mashed potato bar!! I also had some food from the pasta station and the wok station---all very yummy! It was really cute how the waitstaff was waiting with frozen drinks when you walk into cocktail hour. The room is gorgeous and I love the indoor/outdoor bar. During the reception, the appetizer was a mix of cantaloupe, greens, and a cheese/proschutto wheel--again, very good! then they annouced it was time for salad and the waitstaff rolls a huge table to the center of the room with giant bowls of salad. Each waiter then took their own bowl and filled it with salad and brought it to there assigned table---it was like watching a show--very cool. Same with dinner and this allowed the food to be very fresh and hot when it got to the table. I had a chicken dish stuffed with rice and mushrooms, FH had the salmon---everyone at the table was raving about the way the food was served and the food itself. One of my favorite things was the backdrop of the trees, grounds, and water while you are in the reception room. Even though it was dark out, the whole outside is lit up so instead of looking at the inside wall of a CH, you are looking out huge glass windows to the lit weeping willows, water and the lights outside. It was so pretty, I had never been there at night like that with it lit so I had no clue it would look so awesome! We all picked a great place!!!!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
no--they had the cake and pastries but they also had the chocolate fountain. This was very nice but the only thing I didn't love was that is was set up in the lobby not in the reception room.....

Re: Thatched cottage thread
thats a little strange about the choc fountain... we got the icecream bar along with it, I wonder if they are going to put them both in the lobby- I'll def ask if they can keep it in the room!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Wow, I dont want it there. I was hoping to ask if they could put the deserts in the other room right across from the main room. I think that is the room for smaller parties. I would like it better there.

I agree! The other room would be perfect! Are you doing the full viennese? I'm going back and forth and I can't decide..

t hat is a great idea! hopefully there are no smaller parties the day of the wedding so that can be an option! I saw pictures of it set up in the main room by that mock fire place thing, right to the left of when you walk through the doors that looked nice too.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I am having the Viennese Table, which includes make your own sundae parfaits, sherbet, chocolate filled crepes with flambe topping, bananas foster, and pastries. Also the Chocolate Fountain, cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones. So I would rather have it in the small room.

Ok girls - I feel like I'm way behind on the planning. Where did you all get your invitations from? That's my next project. It's really the one area I don't want to spend a ton of money on. For some reason, I'm just not into them. I need inspiration! Help!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Try rexcraft online, they have a huge selection! Sorry to change subject, but i went to last appt at TC and for some reason they told me that they are adding the indian station for free, it's something new they wanted to try. Did anyone else get this? Im not big on indian food, in fact, i really didn't like it when i went to the tasting. I wasn't aware of this change, if i wanted something free added, it wouldn't be this. Im just a little dissapointed because I told them I didn't like that specific food, and they go ahead and said they're throwing it in.
