Re: Thatched cottage thread

FH and I were just discussing the BP gifts this weekend. For his GM, he is getting them all sports memorabilia. They are all huge baseball fans. It's kind of cute because they pick a stadium every year and go to a game - it's like my girls spa weekend. Since they all have favorite players through the years, FH is tracking down autographed baseballs or baseball cards from their favorites. Each guy will get one that means something for him.

As far as the girls' gifts go, I am not getting them all the same thing. FSIL who is one of my BMs has offered to make them the DOJ. I was thinking of getting them each something different that they would love. One sister, is a huge spa fan, so I was thinking of a Bliss gift card and a nice fluffy robe and slippers. The other sister loves going to Broadway, so I was thinking I'd get her tickets for something. FSIL is who is hanging me up - I have no idea what to get her!

The Gm will be getting beer mugs with there names and gift cerf. to citi field all are hugh baseball fans except my BIL but he will use it ( my sister will want to go with there kids LOL, he is hard to shop for) ill just get him a little somthing else not sure what yet!
My BM are getting coach bags , and earrings for DO, and I will pay for there manis & pedis

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Hey Girls!

I haven't posted on here often but I just wanted to tell everyone that I went to TC today to get some ideas for my wedding. The place looked soooooo good. I met with Andre (sp?) and he was so nice and helpful. I really went to in today to just get some ideas about how I want to decorate. I am going for a really romantic vintagey feel. Andre suggested using their candle centerpiece on every other table and the flower centerpiece on the others. What do you ladies think? Renting the candle centerpiece is actually cheaper then the flower centerpieces but I digress. Its not really a money thing, but saving would be really nice! I am just not sure. Any advice would be great!!

Thanks!

I think the candle centerpieces on every other table might make for a nice romantic look. I love candlelight. I think it's a great idea.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Are ya talking about those silver candle holders that the TC provides? If so, I am going to be honest (cause that's what this site is about and I would want someone to be honest with me). I wasn't crazy about those holders. They weren't horrible but I thought they were more fallish looking. When are you getting married? I love candle light too- and I did a small centerpiece of peonie flowers on each table with two taper candle holders ( http://www.dlightonline.com/-strse-852/Taper-holders%2C-candle-holders%2C/Detail.bok) on each side of the centerpiece with really tall ivory taper candles in them. and then scattered votives all over the table- the room look so romantic and classy. I just got my pics back from the photographer and he actually got some pictures of my tables so as soon as I download the CD I will share with you. Im hoping you do not take offense. to this post..Seriously just trying to help make your wedding beautiful

Thanks so much!! I am not offended at all. :) They are the silver candle holders.... Part of me feels like there its too much metal for the theme I going for. But the other part of thinks that all the candles are nice and I am getting married fall/winter (Nov. 28th). I do love all your pictures and maybe I will do something similar if I don't go for what they offer.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

I don't think I know what their candelabras look like, but I am going there next Thursday to finally show my mom the place. I'll ask them to show them to me so I can give you a better opinion. I'm a fall bride too (exactly 2 weeks before you)!

I have to say, Jaredsgirl's sweetheart table looked amazing with the candles!

Hi! I'm using the candle 'tree' centerpieces on all my tables. I love them! I'm getting married in early September, which I still consider summer, and i think the will be perfect! I am having the florist attach flowers to them though, because I wanted some color. She is attaching about 6 stems of flowers on each, I forgot which flowers exactly, but they are blue and yellow( which are my colors).

Re: Thatched cottage thread

went to the TC tonight to show my mom the place (finally). I have a question though. I don't think I realized how small the bridal suite is. Granted any time I have seen it, it's had a table set up for a tasting, but it doesn't look to me like it will fit an entire BP. We only have 3 guys and 3 girls plus us and it doesn't look like the 8 of us would all be able to fit.

I asked and they said we can use the chapel room if nothing is going on in there during the daytime (so far it's empty). Anyone else think this?

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Yea I am prob going to use the chapel, my bridal party is 16 people, with us makes 18. That room would deff be too small for all of us.

Random question, the two of us LOVE the mets. What do you guys think of having Mr. Met during the CH?

I think that would be great especially since you both love the Mets! Go for it!

I really didn't think it would be a problem, I have one extra person than you do. I plan to be in there as little as possible. I figure, when I get there, drop my stuff and then just use it for thr bathroom the rest of the night.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

I don't plan on using it for more than dropping off my stuff and fixing my makeup and going to the bathroom, but my mom has me paranoid about it now.

I'm sure it'll be fine. She still doesn't get that I am attending my CH. She's used to the old days where the bride and groom weren't seen till they were announced into the main reception.
