Re: Thatched cottage thread
I haven't been on here in awhile but so glad that i got here in time to wish you the best day ever! Enjoy every single moment.I miss my wedding day :( Wish it could happen over and over and over. You only wear the white (or ivory) dress once in your life. You will look and feel like a princess. Its an amazing feeling.
You will be glowing and floating all in one! Don't sweat the small stuff...enjoy all the great stuff.
CONGRATULATIONS

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hi girls!!! So we will be leaving ealry tomorrow but I wanted to tell you how wonderful the Thatched Cottage was last night. We all made the best possible choice in a CH. Not one thing went wrong and I haven't stopped hearing 'this one of the, if not THE best wedding I've ever been to'. I will give more details in two weeks when we are home. I will try to put a few pics in my album now:)

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hey guys, I was reading on a post that during low tide there is a 'smell'. Anyone else hear about this?? Or smell it?? I don't think I have to worry about it because I am in the winter and will prob be inside. But just wondering!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I responded to that post, I thought the girls was quite rude. She told the poster to cross the TC off of her list! I've been there at multiple times, and have not smelled anything horrible. But any and ALL places on the water, whether it be ocean, sound, bay, lake..will have a low tide smell. That's just the way water is! Don't even worry about it, I'm not!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I actually heard that they have some type of barrier in place in the water to avoid the affect of low tide, apparently it overides the drastic change and smell. Don't know if that really makes sense but they were explaining it when I booked and asked about it.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Geegee827 you don't need the vendor insurance before the meeting, I still never sent mine to them and im getting married there in 18 days!As to the water question, I have spoke to a few people about that because i was concerned, and they actually drain the water once a week, then refill it, but it's never on a weekend.

Good luck! FH and I filled out the paper work and picked out everything and totally forgot to bring it with us to the 3 month to go meeting! It might seem like you have time now, but its going to come up so fast!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
We're back!!!! Hawaii is awesome!!!!! I'm going to add more pictures to my album for you guys in a minute. As for the 'smell' , they do have like an artificial damn type thing that will keep the water in during your wedding so that the tide can't go out and no smell will happen. When the tide does go out (they let it during the week) it does smell--but dont worry, you are safe for your wedding day:)

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I get so excited reading this board and seeing pictures!!I have a question!
Fh and I booked the TC back in december 2007! and haven't been back there since. I have seen some pictures of the constuction, but would really love to see it in person. should i just call to make an appointment to look around? we did a food tasting back then too, but I would like to bring both our parents there to see it too and maybe try the food.
also one more question! has anymore done a rehersal at TC and how did that work??
TIA.
