Ive brought my family down numerous times w/o an appointment.. but I always went during the week... dont know if it matters. I think your only allowed one tasting though....I wanted to bring my brother for a tasting and mentioned at my orig. tasting how I wanted to bring him one day and the guy (i think he was a matre'd) said oh you only get one =(

I have my 3 month meeting wednesday night!!!! SO excited. Its actually more like 2 months cause they had to cancel my first appointment lol its been killing me waiting! lol

honestly, I can't say there was anything
we didnt' like. we thought there would at least be one thing wrong but it was really perfect. They gave us the indian station for free that day with our others.

We didnt have viennese hour but we had an ice cream sundae bar with bananas foster as part nof our package. Yummy!!!!

I'm happy to answer any questions for you guys cuz I know I had a lot before!!

We did our 3 month meeting last Monday night. We told them we don't want the Indian station - neither one of us likes Indian food and I hate the smell of curry so didn't want to chance it.

lol---i don't think it smelled a lot like curry because I didn't even know it was there until after the wedding! Also, they had put that station outside so that may have helped.


I did a rehearsal there two nights before my wedding. I just called a few months in advance and told them I wanted to do a rehearsal and they set up the appt with me. Then, since my officiant would not be attending the rehearsal, they had a matride there to go through it with us. He ended up being our matride the night of the wedding also, so that was nice. The rehearsal cost like $75 , but only because I needed the matride to run it.

I would agree that it's probably better to go look with your family duing the week when no parties are going on.

Has anyone checked out the Chalet Motor Inn next door?

FH's grandfather is 90 years old. He is not going to be able to stay for the entire wedding. The family wants to get him a room some place right near there so someone can run him over there and come right back to the wedding. The hotel where our room block is is too far for someone to go back and forth.

I know it's not going to be a 5 star resort, but I was just wondering if anyone has seen the rooms there.

Actually the new rooms there are beautiful! I think about 1/2 are redone already. I have the Chalet blocked for my wedding and I am staying in one of their suites on my wedding night. Definitely book the room for your grandfather there!

wow just by going by the looks of the place I didnt think it would be nice My room block is at the smithtown sheraton, which is kinda far and I dont have a shuttle. To bad I printed my invites or I would have changed it... hope no one gets mad

It's only a 1/2 block away, I figured people will just walk! If they are eldery or infirm there will be plenty of people passing by that can just drop them off.

My block is at the Huntington Hilton. I did it because it's in between the Church (in Amityville) and the RH. Also, FH insisted upon a place that had a bar.

I'm glad to hear the Chalet is nice though - one less for the FILs to complain about (although I'm sure they'll find something else!)

SO I had my 3 month (really 2 month lol) meeting last night! Everything seems SO real!!! We have our menu, picked the prime rib and the chicken florentine. CH we switched out the 4 chafing dishes for the mashed potato bar and the mexican bar (not sure how I feel bout this one...but def wanted the mashed potato and couldnt afford another p/p charge) Picked our cake, it will be a square 4 tier cake with each layer having two layers of vanilla and 1 layer devils food, with chocolate mouse and cannoli filling, also did banana fosters/sundae bar.

Cant think of what else.... SO exciting yet really makes things real now lol. Now we dont see them till we do our final count! eekkk!
