Re: Thatched cottage thread

Does anyone know if there are any all inclusive hotels in Europe? I really want to go there but only if its all inclusive- otherwise i cant afford it.

I know there used to be a couple of club meds in Europe, but I don't know if they still exist. I'm sure you can check out their website. I don't know off the top of my head of any all inclusives, but most European hotel rates include breakfast if that helps.

ETA: You can also try looking into a European cruise. Then at least all the meals are included.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

I know quite a few people who have done cruises in Europe and they all say it's great. I think it's a really good way to see a lot in a short period of time without spending a ton of money and without having to plan so much on your own.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

A European Cruise is a great idea. Part of our honeymoon is going to include a one week Mediteranean cruise. It will give us time to relax, and meals are included.

Re: Thatched cottage thread

The only vendor we have so far is DJ - Long Island Sound.

I have a random question about the CH. They say they give you 35 different passed hourdourves (sp?). How do they do that many?? Is there like only 1 tray of each?

No I think they are passed around butler style. Im sure they know which ones are more popular and make more or less of what ever kinds. I was first under the impression that you could PICK the 35 varieties that they pass out but when I went for my tasting they said it was the chefs choice and dependent on what is in season. At first I was bummed but as we tasted all the different kinds at the tasting.. there is NO way you could go wrong with ANY of the choices they have!

Re: Thatched cottage thread

I know it is butler style...I just meant that usually there aren't that many people walking around with trays. So I just meant I wonder how much of each choice you really get.

Yea I actually asked them about the choosing 35...and they told me the same. But Tonianne said that if you request a few, they will probably give them to you.

Its good to know that all of the ones you got to taste were good!

Is anyone who is having their ceremony at the Thatched not planning on doing a rehearsal??

Yes, i am not having a rehearsal at TC. They said they can do it on the day of the wedding. TC is not to close to me and bridal party so I don't want to inconvenience people on a weekday to come 'walk down the isle'. Plus everyone has been in weddings or are married so everyone knows the drill (hopefully).

Re: Thatched cottage thread

Is anyone having a rehersal at TC? FH and I are on the fence about it.
My Vendors:
Photo/Video: Patken Photography
Band: Heart and Soul (which I just heard on LIW that the name changed)
Flowers: no idea
Limos: still undecided if we are doing that
Favors: donation
Hotel: Please please help me with this one (I feel the Marriott in Melville is too far)
Honeymoon: Thinking about...St. Lucia - the Grande Lux w/ Sandals
*we still have tons of time but I am trying to get a bunch of stuff done early
One last question: we need someone to marry us...any suggestions. We are both religious but of different denonminations of Christian and we don't really go to church anymore (mom and dad are NOT happy)

You'll be fine. I was in my cousin's BP and she got married at her RH. Before the ceremony, the maitre d came into the bridal suite and basically walked us all through it. She didn't want to see FH before hand, so all the girls and groomsmen went down to the room where the ceremony was and did a dry run. The bride and groom's part is actually the easiest because you don't have to worry about who you're walking in with
