Re: Thatched cottage thread
Hey ladies... So I think there was someone on here that went to thatched to discuss changing their date?! My mother just got notified she will be layed off and my FH is out of work as well. SO I think I have to push my date back. I was just reading my contract and it says if you cancel 8 months prior you get all $ paid except $750 and then it says no refund on date change Does anyone know if this means that I cannot take the money I have already paid and put it towards a date in 2010? Any input would be great!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I'm not sure of the answer to this- why don't you call them to find out? Maybe they won't charge you if you just push the date back instead of canceling completely? I don't know but I am sorry you and your family are going through a hard time.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. If you give them 8 months notice, they have to refund your $$ - it's Suffolk County law.
Click below and then go to Section 237 on the left hand side.
Suffolk County Charter
However, I think your first step should be to call them and try to work out a deal for a different date. They have been so easy to work with so far, I'm sure they will try their best to accommodate you - especially in this economy. I'm sure a lot of halls are dealing with this issue.
Please keep us posted and good luck

I think its only if you try to change your date less then 8 months to the wedding...call and see! GL and let us know what happens!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
no problem! yeah, when we went there was a party in the small room upstairs, ( a sweet sixteen) and a 2nd (WHO HAS A PARTY LIKE THAT FOR A TWO YEAR OLD?!) birthday party....DJ, Clown, Characters, Games, bigger than some weddings! It was interesting! Anyway, it looked gorgeous as usual!! When I go back next month to make another payment, I'll take more pictures! I know I can mail them, but I don't want to miss out on the opportunity to see the place again!Welcome New Vendors
