Re: Thatched cottage thread
LOL!! I'm obsessed with orrchids too!! I looked at one place today and showed her this picture that I loved and they told me it had the most expensive orchid on the planet! She said she could do the cheaper one and it would be close to the picture, but still not cheap enough...and probably not as nice!!Let us know what happens at Burtons and if Orchids can be included in that price!

I'm using Vito from Pedestals. He is super great and they are my favorite vendor so far. I know that they do have orchids but I'm not sure of the price.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
My cousin called me this morning to tell me that she opened up the bridal planner in today's Newsday and saw the ad for the TC! She said she's never seen it before and the pictures look really pretty....I just wish they had more pictures of the inside.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
my best friend got married at the thatched cottage last june and although we loved the place, she had several cards missing when she went through them the next day. They do a great job, but watch where you put things!!

I feel this is the same for any place you go. You should always keep cards in a safe place.

ITA. You never know for anyplace. Plus, there is no proof that the bride/groom/anyone else didn't misplace the cards. Is your friend sure they even got a card from that person? I don't mean this in the wrong way, i just mean that I don't think this only applies to the TC.

ITA as well... I know a couple that freaked out on the RH and vendors because they were missing 2 cards... they thought they were stolen, only to find out a few months later that the the two couples that the cards were supposed to be from never even gave them cards lol. I think its a risk you take with all places.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
Yes I agree you take the risk anywhere you go. You cant freak out unless you def know that person gave you a card. And even then, you dont know who would have taken it...or if it was simply misplaced, thrown out, etc. Hence the reason I always, always, always give a check!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I totally agree - you have to be careful no matter where you are having your reception. The same thing happened to friends of mine - she thought they went 'missing' due to RH staff. It turns out, one of her cousins had a drug problem and admitted to swiping some of the envelopes!Guard them carefully no matter where you're having your wedding.

Not yet ..but that is on my list of things to do.. I have heard great things about pedestals and was told last time I was in that they are now a house vendor so I can wait to go look.

I don't even know when my rehearsal is going to be! I have to make arrangements for it at pre-cana but pre-cana hasn't started yet.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
We booked limos this week! If you need them and haven't booked them yet, definitely check out Camelot - they were great. We still have to do shuttle buses but Joe from Camelot told us to hold off until it gets closer so we get a better estimate of how many people we're going to have to shuttle between the hotel and TC.
