We booked limos this week! If you need them and haven't booked them yet, definitely check out Camelot - they were great.
We still have to do shuttle buses but Joe from Camelot told us to hold off until it gets closer so we get a better estimate of how many people we're going to have to shuttle between the hotel and TC.
what hotel are you using if you dont mind me asking?

Re: Thatched cottage thread
We are using the Huntington Hilton. I wanted the Melville Marriott but they wouldn't keep the bar open for us and since our reception doesn't end till midnight, FH had an issue with it. We were then going to go out to Islandia but the church is in Amityville (so is my mom's house) so it was in the middle.I know there were some negative reviews on here about it, but I have to say, my experience there has been wonderful so far.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I was curious if anyone had seen the options for linens. I remember there being a choice of color but I don't know what that includes.

The woman at the Marriott's face changed when FH asked about the bar staying open. She actually told us we could go to 7-11 and get some beers or bottles of wine at a liquor store and sit in one of the rooms off the lobby as long as we were 'respectful.' It just wasn't the way FH and I envisioned our wedding night!

I told my boss to drive past TC on his way into work tomorrow morning to see how it's coming along - he said he will. I'll post an update as soon as I get it from him.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
The last time I was there was about 2 weeks ago and the front looked great. The back was probably about 1/2 done at that time.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
FH just had a groomzilla moment!FSIL is in from Florida and just told him that she was at a wedding at TC 10 years ago and there were no bartenders (you had to ask the waitress to get you drinks) and that the room was so small you couldn't walk around and half the dance floor had tables on it.
I asked him how many people they had at the wedding (of course he didn't ask his sister that). So he made me call TC and ask if there are bartenders during the reception and if the guests can go up to the bar rather than waiting for a waiter or waitress to bring them drinks. The answer: OF COURSE!!
Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else has a crazy FH who would stress out over these things.
Of course, this is probably just FSIL's way of creating issues.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
That's funny you mention that about the bartenders because I had also heard that from someone who was at a wedding there years ago. I called TC and they said guests were definitly able to go to the bar to get drinks. Its funny the things guys worry about.

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I was talking to someone about this a few weeks ago... They have been to many functions at TC and they said that the waitstaff was so good everytime they had been there that they never even HAD to get up and get drinks because the staff was so on top of it. Which I thought was nice... although I like going up to the bar from time to time. I remember andre telling me that there are 2 staff members taking care of one table..one waiter and one busser/runner and that its very rare your guest have to get up to get things. Just thought I would share Have a good day everyone!

Re: Thatched cottage thread
I'm sure it won't be a problem, but I think FH envisions hanging out by the bar with his friends at the wedding.
