a post on the '08 board has me thinking.... Is there a table 13?
They don't have it on their paperwork, but I thought that was silly. We added it in and changed their numbers. They were fine with that!

Hello again,
Ok so any of you brides who have planned the cake already, or had their wedding already. What sorts of flavors and fillings did Fox Hollow offer for the cake? Also, any idea of upgrade prices with Cakes by Jay?? Everytime I email Cakes by Jay I get no reply and a few girl on the Knot mention having a hard time getting in touch with him on the phone even after they booked him and gave a deposit! One more question, has anyone tasted the waffle dessert Fox Hollow offers I was wondering what it tastes like since some of the things in the description of it are unfamilair to me.
Thanks!
Genine
You have to call Jay- not email him. he will get back to you, but it might be that he is in Colorado filming for food network or something. but he will always get back to you- I never had a problem when he did our cake. His cakes taste soooo good btw!
We had the waffle desset at our wedding. it was vanilla ice cream with a waffle piece on it. It was really good. It also had chocolate fudge on it and we asked them to add whip cream and a cherry and they did. it was a huge hit! Their ice cream was actually very very good! Its one of the few things I ate at my wedding! LOL.
Pointing out that if you want the waffle dessert, it comes with cream on it, not ice cream.. if you want that, you have to ask specifically. I asked about it and Annmarie seemed confused.
Also, Gina, can you clarify? Was there a time when upgrades by Cakes by Jay were offered through Fox Hollow? Some of the earlier posts were a little confusing and it made it seem like that was the case..
I used Cakes by Jay as well. You can not upgrade your cake that the fox hollow provides through Jay as they use Erga Bakery for that cake. You can go to Erga and talk to them about upgrading.
If you go to Jay, you are foregoing the cake that is in your contract. Jay does give a discount for Fox Hollow brides because he works there so often. We went with Jay and he was $$$. It was sooooo worth the extra!!! My cake was beautiful and tasted so yummy!!

Ok I need help ladies -
So I am booked for the WGP for CH and BF for Reception. I LOVE the WGP but the BF is just ok. I love the Garden Terrace. The thing was when I booked, for the GT I cannot have my CH in the WGP. Plus the guarantee was higher.
Now I am having doubts. I really love the GT and WGP but can't have both. I was thinking about changing to the GT.
Does anyone know what the guarantee was?
Also, what would you ladies do? Please help put my mind at ease.
In April, I had to guarantee 225 for the GT. I know that at different times of the year it is only 175. I would call and find out from them!!
I had to Guarantee 200 for my Feb wedding the GT room.

i saw a post that the bf is just okay, i loved it! and im gonna even have the similar cp's that are on the website. what does everyoe else thing, i got a little worried and upset.....
My wedding was 2 weeks ago in the Briar Fox.
Honestly, I had my doubts at first and almost right up to the day, but the room was PERFECT. It was cozy and intimate, but elegant at the same time. I got so many comments about how nice the room was and how it was perfect for my wedding, how it was so elegant and classy.
Hope that helps some of you girls that are worried.
Thanks! That helped me too. I am a Briar Fox girl too and I also have been nervous about the room. Every time I see it, I always feel better, but then I have doubts when I am not there. Your input helps calm the nerves! Thank you!

I agree. I am the one who posted that I wasn't in love with that room and thats why I am considering changing it. We are going back in a few weeks so I can decide.
But your comment really did calm my nerves. It seems who ever had a reception in there loved it and there were no problems.
Thanks ladies!

Looks like you are getting married 1 week before me!! I think a winter wedding is perfect in that room. That Fireplace sold me! Plus I like that the dance floor isn't SO long. I feel when it's too long people don't come together and dance. i think we made the right decision!!!

My mom said the same thing about the dance floor. She felt the other room was too big and it would look empty. FH never saw the Briar Fox so we are going back in a few weeks so he can see.Your right, I think we did make the right decision!

Christine-Cloudnine had posted her review of a wedding she attended at FH and they had the mini-viennese there... i can't find the thread now though ughhh so you may want to FM her.
I was looking into the mini viennese as well, although i am not sure about pricing.

I don't mean to sound cheap, but how much should the maitre d get as a tip? I just talked to the FH and they said like 400-500! that seems like alot of $$$ for one nights work. do they not pay him a salary? we were thinking more in the 250 to 300 range

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I believe rule of thumb is $2-$3 per guest. So 100 people times 3 would be $300.

Christine,Jenny was look for this thread which may help you.
CloudNine's Review
And I should make a correction, I'm getting the dessert trays not the mini-Viennese. I got the two mixed up.

it also entirely depends on what he does for you as well. We didn't think anything of it and then the day of - we LOVED our maitre' d.
He knew we were interested in the Football games (the playoffs were that day) going on and every few minutes, he'd come up to either me or Dave and whisper the scores into our ears.
He was INCREDIBLE!!!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
What is everyone doing as far as reserving a block of rooms. Most of my guests are not really 'out of town' but will be driving from New Jersey and Staten Island and just want to crash for the night. I think the Inn at FH is a little pricy for that..plus i was told if 70% of the rooms I reserve aren't booked I get charged a fee?!?!?! I was thinking of either doing a room block at the Best Western or Executive Inn down the street. What did you all do or are going to do??? Also do you know if either of those hotels has a shuttle that can takes guests from hotel to FH before and after the wedding??

the executive inn does have a shuttle - yes. we blocked the rooms there.. There is no fee and the woman who was in charge at the hotel at the time of our wedding in January was a DOLL!
