Hello again,

Ok so any of you brides who have planned the cake already, or had their wedding already. What sorts of flavors and fillings did Fox Hollow offer for the cake? Also, any idea of upgrade prices with Cakes by Jay?? Everytime I email Cakes by Jay I get no reply and a few girl on the Knot mention having a hard time getting in touch with him on the phone even after they booked him and gave a deposit! One more question, has anyone tasted the waffle dessert Fox Hollow offers I was wondering what it tastes like since some of the things in the description of it are unfamilair to me.

Thanks!
Genine

You have to call Jay- not email him. he will get back to you, but it might be that he is in Colorado filming for food network or something. but he will always get back to you- I never had a problem when he did our cake. His cakes taste soooo good btw!
We had the waffle desset at our wedding. it was vanilla ice cream with a waffle piece on it. It was really good. It also had chocolate fudge on it and we asked them to add whip cream and a cherry and they did. it was a huge hit! Their ice cream was actually very very good! Its one of the few things I ate at my wedding! LOL.

Pointing out that if you want the waffle dessert, it comes with cream on it, not ice cream.. if you want that, you have to ask specifically. I asked about it and Annmarie seemed confused.

Also, Gina, can you clarify? Was there a time when upgrades by Cakes by Jay were offered through Fox Hollow? Some of the earlier posts were a little confusing and it made it seem like that was the case..

Mine automatically came with ice cream and hot fudge. We only had to ask for the whip cream and cherry. maybe I had a different menu?

m not sure about how the cakes by jay thing works. No one at Fox hollow could ever explain it to me. We ended up paying for the entire cake. We were first told that they would give us a $200 credit. then we were told that they do not work with him. Then we were told they do work with him, and the price he gives us is including the discount. No one knew what the heck they were talking about o we just paid for the whole thing. It was frustrating, but not Jays fault at all. But he gave us a price and we thought Fox Hollow was paying $200 of it, so we were able to afford it. Then we had to end up comming up with another $200 to pay for it cus Fox Hollow wouldnt give it to us. It was frustrating and took a lot of phone calls and no one would send me the policy in writing. So can't really help you- but just wish you good luck!

I don't mean to sound cheap, but how much should the maitre d get as a tip? I just talked to the FH and they said like 400-500! that seems like alot of $$$ for one nights work. do they not pay him a salary? we were thinking more in the 250 to 300 range

I believe it is $2-$4 a person

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I am meeting with Jenn at the Fox Hollow on Monday night. Does anyone know if they will upgrade anything if I decide NOT to get the dessert? I see no need for cake AND dessert and I have been thinking of asking them to give me something else - an upgraded cake or appetizer, extra station at cocktail hour - in lieu of the dessert. Anyone ask this already?

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

totally random question. Friends of DH and i also got married at Fox Hollow almost a year before us. We were saying it would be fun for the 4 of us to go and have dinner there. Ive eaten there before and its great. But at our wedding I had a couple of bites of DH's veal chop. It was amazing!!!!!!!!! I don't ever order veal. But this I LOVED. Anyone ever notice if its on the menu at the restaurant? LOL.

I was just there and now I'm trying to visualize the menu in my head! I know a lot of stuff that's on the wedding menu ISN'T on the regular dinner menu, but they have specials too.

I believe there was some sort of veal dish, but I don't know if it was veal chop.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Are any or did any Fox Hollow brides make bathroom baskets for their guests? Being that there could be another wedding going on at the same time how does that work??

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I was wondering the same thing. I think I'm deciding against it unless janedoe2 (my date and hall twin) wants to do them together. have a big one in each bathroom, for all guests, ya know?
