Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Its supposed to fit 308 (22 tables of 14) both when I saw it set up the first time it was set for 256 and it looked comfortable. More seems a little tight IMO.

We are inviting 280. Our min. is 200 and I am hoping and prayer we are around 225!

Ok i am getting a little nervous now. A few of you have commented that I am getting 'down to the wire' and I'm like WHAT???????? I have two more months, more than that!!!!!!!

I *am* mailing my invites on Thursday though ... going over to see my mom tonight and we are putting them together .... ahhhhh .....

Oh and get this -- I am at 73 days ... which means than in 13 days ... I CAN GET MY MARRIAGE LICENSE.

LOL don't worry it wasn't me that was waiting. I went last Thursday at 6. Did you meet with Annmarie too? I thought she was very nice!

Don't worry we DO have time! I already sent out my invites but it's ok that you didn't yet. Two months is a long time so don't worry about it!!! I went to my meeting at Fox Hollow the other night with Ann Marie and it was fun. Don't worry everything will get done!

When did you go? I was there with her on Monday! (I had a 6:30 appt but we didn't finish until 8 - there was someone there I think for a 7:30 appt and we definitely went over ... hope that wasn't you!!!!!)

Does anyone know the max amount of ppl the Garden Terrace room holds? I'm starting to get scared bc we've invited alot of people.

I think it says300 but i think its more like 250!

We had 230 and we just fit. We could have put more people at tables, but we had the max # of tables. If you feel better..we invited almost 300. You WILL get no's.
About 20%!

OK, bc right now we're at 265 and I have like 5 more people to invite. I don't want to have to use the oblong tables.

I hate to break it to you...you're going to have to use the oblong tables. Anything over like 175-185 is going to be oblong tables. They actually looked super nice. I was pleased with them!

Damn. HAHA. Well, it is what it is I guess. I just hope my centerpieces look ok with the oblong.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I wish I could have oblong tables! I am making my own centerpieces and I had a great idea for oblong tables. My room can't have them I don't think - I never asked but from what I saw on here, no one in the WGP ever had oblong tables.

The PWP florists told me he did 3 or 4 rows on long tables in there. can't explain this way good but picture like 5 rectangle tables all together for that really long look.

Like this pic...maybe that would work for you.http://www.snuffinscatering.com/photos/lakewold%20long%20table%20best_hi.jpg

Q: Has anyone ever fit a band into the WGP? I really want to have one, but the room is smallish... will one fit and will my room still look nice?

I am having one. I don't think it will be a problem. There's plenty of room next to the bar.

Thanks. I'm not sure I'd like that look for that room - I think it's more suited for an outdoor wedding, personally. I have all my centerpieces already set though and they are made for round tables. Thanks for the idea though!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

We have our menu meeting rescheduled for this coming Monday night. I have a TON of questions for Jenn and I now know to get everything in writing.

Besides choosing our menu, linens, having questions answered, and giving them a photo of my DIY CPs to set up, is there anything that I'm forgetting? I have a preliminary vendor list to give to them too, just 1 or 2 contact numbers to plug in.

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Just had the linens and things meeting with Ann Marie. She was very nice, and very helpful.

A side note, Syosset Taxi took AN HOUR to pick my fiance and I up from the train station....

I'm still furious.

However, Fox Hollow stayed open, and Ann Marie stayed there and went over every last detail without making us feel rushed. They were also kind enough to give me an alcoholic beverage when I came through the door.

Yikes! My guest list is up to 265. I can only cross my fingers that some ppl say no.

Dont feel bad min eis 275. But we are in winter so we have good shot of a few NO's!

NO MORE INVITING PEOPLE FOR U! lol

I CAN'T invite any more. I'm ordering my invitations tomorrow. LOL

Awesome where did u purchase them Im looking havent found anything i love yet.

People think I'm crazy when I tell them this, but, there is this place called 'The Sweet Nut Hut and Invitation Station' in Deer Park. It's a candy store and Invitation shop. I kid you not. LOL She has tons of invitation books. I had been looking for invites online and in other stores and I hadn't found anything that I loved until I went to her AND she gave me a nice discount. Something like 15 to 20% off my total order.

Awesome. Something to look into. Thanks.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Hi Ladies, i was able to get the Garden Terrace for my afternoon reception at a minimum guarantee of 125 people.

My concern is, do you think the room will look too empty? I checked on the website and it says it can fit 300!

TIA!

125 is that room is not a lot. IMO it may look a bit empty.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Jenny- I also had a minimum of 125 for an afternoon reception. When I started planning, I was SURE I wasn't going to have more than 130 people.. but honestly, once I was done with my guest list (or should i say, my parents got done with it..) it was up to 163 people. In the end, I think we'll be having about 145 or so.. so while it's a bit 'small' for the GT room, i am just glad that we won't be squeezing. I'm going to use the round tables and figure i'm not going to get nuts about some tables having 8 or 9 people as opposed to 10.. i figure we'll fill the room up enough.

I'll let you know how it goes- only a month to go!!

btw, cake update - just want to say that Fox Hollow ended up giving us something nice in exchange for the cake.. i wont' get into it because it was a whole long thing, but we are happy with the substitution. so, for all my complaining, i have to give them props where its due..

I never noticed. I thought all rooms were neutral toned. I'm using the Garden Terrace room and my wedding colors are Black and White.
