May i ask whattype of cake most of you are girls are goign with? I will be doing all of this in 2.5 months. I just want some opinions of what cakes are amazing! I really appreciate the help.
I went with carrot cake! I figured it's a fall-like cake and different from most wedding cakes. I can't wait to try it!

Hi girls!!!
This may be a silly Question but....
What happens at the end of the night?? do FH and I have to carry all the left over stuff out then?? do i have someone else do it ( i can't think of anyone) or can we get it the nexxt day??
They brought everything to the inn for me or load up your car. My 'aunt' had them put it in her car then brought it to my house the next day. It was done before I even thought of it!!

Can anyone tell me if they used the menus provided by FH? trying to decide if it is worth the trouble of making my own. Are they decent looking? I would hate to spend a fortune on something that people will not think twice about and throw them away.
I used the Fox Hollow menus. No one even noticed. I went to a wedding after mine where she did menus and no one even commented on them and I know they took her a lot of time. People just want to know what they're eating, they don't care what the menu looks like. JMO

Jbooth- just a note because i'm a stickler for details- your menus are gorgeous, but make sure you put either salmon OR tilapia- just one. You guys have to pick that at your final menu meeting.. they won't offer both to your guests. I think you'll save the waiters and guests a lot of confusion. We went with salmon, in case you were wondering.. i have heard a lot of bad things about tilapia- that common to popular belief it is a cheap, bottom feeder fish and can be dangerous.. now i'm sure FH gets their fish from a very good vendor and only serves the best quality, but just in general, I stopped eating it, so I didn't want to serve it. It is tasty though!

FYI - Went to Egra Bakery this weekend and bought a cake. It was so good. Actually it sat in my car for like 6 hours and it was still very moist and yummy!Just wanted to let you girls know for those who have fears about the cake.

I made the menu last fall actually, wayyyy before our final meeting.
Just wrote both because I didn't know which we'd have. We had our meeting in August and picked the tilapia. I eat it all the time and never got sick - I have been fishing for bottom feeder fish (fluke, flounder, etc) and never really heard anything about it being dangerous ... It's inexpensive but delicious...

I personally don't like fish so my dad picked the salmon, but it is actually going to be in a dill sauce- not just grilled. I believe it is Salmon Classico if I am not mistaken. Also- were you gals asked to leave out the 'mushroom' in the mushroom risotto? I was told if I am making the menu to take that out since they took the mushroom out b/c supposedly a lot of people dont like mushrooms. Personally that is what would make me choose it! I love me some mushrooms!
Your menu looks beautiful though!! Very creative!!

Thanks! I am actually changing it so it's a little more elegant looking. I should have another sample after this weekend.
AnnMarie told me to take out the mushroom in the risotto, yes. I made this menu months ago as a sample.

We had our meeting too and FH chose the salmon. I don't remember her mentioning to take out the mushrooms in the risotto though. I'm with you.... the mushrooms would make me choose that dish!!
BTW, I love your quote 'I love me some mushrooms!' By any chance do you listen to John Bell on the Z Morning Zoo? 'I loves me some Friday!!!!!'
It's not Friday until he does that!

For those of you about to get married / who have gotten married ... if you requested specific beers - how many cases did they get you?? I don't want to ask for too many, but I need to know what the standard is. We have a lot of beer drinkers.

i used them. They are nothing fancy. I was able to create my own monogram for them to use on top instead of the fox hollow logo.

I got two quotes, he was 500.00 more than the first florist I visited so I found him to be pretty average.

Do you have to pay extra for that?? I know we are getting the open bar with premium liquor- whatever that means lol does beer count in that??

Question about the Fox Hollow florist... for those of you who visited, how were his prices compared to other vendors you visited?
He was suprisingly the most expensive of all the florists I met. He was around 1800, and most others were way under that

He was the same price as Pedestals. They were the only 2 florists I saw, but he was AMAZING!!! I loved my flowers!
