Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
Hi girlsHow's everyone doing?
Thanks for all your support,
okay our Gurudwara issue is 1/2 solved, I said 1/2 because we figured out the clean up part:
So finally FH went there and asked them in person (no one pick up the phone all time
)so they told him since we are having our ceremony on Sat. and they usually have a guy come to clean up for sunday. So we can just pay extra money for that guy to clean up the eatting area too. So we don't have to clean up ourselves.
and they will have 2 ppl to help us serve the guests, but they require the caterering hall to provide someone there too, this is the part we haven't figure out, because Sitar said they won't provide anyone, they only drop off the food. So we have to find a caterer is willing to do that.
enough of me, hope everyone is doing great too!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
hi girls! fh is coming to visit tomorrow so im so happy :) we're going to be able to get a lot of last minute stuff done for the wedding too.ggcopying~ so happy that it worked out for you! Did you speak wiht Rajive at Sitar? Maybe you can re-emphasize that if he can not work something out with you you're going to a different caterer...My sister used Sitar for her engagement and i believe Rajive was there!
sue~ i'm not to sure about mandaps...have you checked out elegant affairs? I know mrsg spoke highly of them

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont worry I am sure it will be fine!!!
jlu, thanks but the manager in Sitar said they will only drop the food off and can't provide a person there, so we went to Jewel of India and the lady there gave us almost double than the price when FSIL got a month ago.. I don't understand why and we didn't like her attitute. So now we are looking for another caterer for the food in temple.
mrsG.. your pic don't work, need a password
but the pics in your album are very nice.
thanks leena for your support!

Hey Girlsgg - you have to sign up and its free.. its a great site, i've been using it since '03... im so glad your cleanup situation has worked out!
jlu - i ended up going with executive inn... DH's parents were paying for all their guests so we had to go with something reasonable.. but overall it was fine.. and so close to CH!

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
GG-- have you thought about Akbar? we used them for the engagement and garba, and their prices are pretty reasonable...for the wedding reception we used Jewels of India and everyone raved about the food...
RK -- thanks! i wasnt thrilled with the cake actually... i wanted it plain smooth with small dots everywhere, instead they put big cream flowers... but again, i didnt stress it, i was having way too much fun :)
i got my reception outfit from Sheetals in Bombay on Grant Road.... there is a Sheetals in NJ too...
how is everyone's planning going?
