Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
I AM MARRIED!!!Wedding was great, lots of drama, but it was such an amazing weekend!!!
Some vendor tips...
Elegant Affairs is amazing, they did such a great job and no one had to tell them anything, I highly reccomend them!! We used them for the sangeet and reception.
Amish Thakkar Photography AWESOME!! Chirali is the best photographer, she lies on the floor, jumps up and down...she will do anything for a good shot. I saw some ceremony pictures they put up on the screen during the reception and they were amazing
Sumati for makeup, she helped me stay calm and made me look awesome!! She is great!!
Pedestals florist I had a bad experience, instead of the boutonniere they just gave us a rose, so we couldnt use it. Then at the reception they didnt even put the centerpieces on the tables, they just left it in a corner, so my cousins had to go around putting them on 50 tables!!! Stay away!!
Hyatt is a great place, but you need someone to stay on top of your maitre d. I was a little dissapointed in ours but too late...
I got my makeup for the sangeet done at mac in roosevelt field, everyone LOVED it. and hair I went to ID salon in Syosset, again everyone LOVED it.
Check out some non professional pictures...

Wow, beautiful picture, makeup and hair look great!! Was the salon able to accomodate you and your bridesmaids at the same time??Sorry about the flowers
But the most important thing is the pictures and if they came out good, then that's all you need!RGV07, thanks for your advice, I might go with Duval.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
hey girls, two questions. has anyone used mehak on hillside ave. for their hair and make-up? and, do you have to have an updo or hair pulled back (like in a bun or something) for a traditional hindu wedding? i prefer to wear my hair down, but i don't think i've seen any indian brides do this.

I have seen photos of Indian brides on the Knot who have worn their hair down - here are some photos that I have. Sorry but I didn't track their names to give them credit. Feel free to FM me if you know who it is.
Hope that helps.

Re: OFFICIAL Indian 'Desi' Wedding Thread
thanks! i'm still debating, though... all the ladies in my family said that it should be up for the wedding and down for the reception, but i'm not having the hair stylist for the whole day, just the morning....so confused
