Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

we ended up getting ours for free but not until after our waiter had been very unattentive and charged our bill twice!!! It took a few days to clear it all up(very stressful) but in the end the manager ended up comping the whole thing for our trouble. What was so upsetting was our dinner was on the anniversary of our wedding day but they made things right so i cannot complain

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Table numbers is one thing I haven't really concerned myself with but all of these posts are making me wonder- do i HAVE to provide them? Do they have any for guests to use? I see that 'each banquet manager has its own set of frames' (which I find extremely bizarre). So, if I need to provide them the numbers, when were they going to tell me that? I would imagine that every event needs table numbers and that this is standard and the only thing that would change is if a couple is doing special table names.. so what's the deal with all of this? Who do i even call to ask?

I was just wondering if any one received a free diner at the Fox Hollows restaurant for booking there wedding with them. When I booked with Susan this is what she told me, I have been trying to reach her since Tuesday, I am still waiting for a call back.

Hi.... I'm really not trying to sound snide or snotty at all, just pretty ticked off because this seems to be the norm on this thread, that promises are made when you book, and not always honored. I hope you get them to honor a full dinner for you. But if it's not explicitly written in your contract, you may be out of luck like we are.

We were promised a full dinner, not just appetizers and drinks, by our BM, both before AND after we booked them (each time we went to make a payment, our BM said just call when we want to come in for our dinner and he'll tell the restaurant for us). FH and I insisted he write this down, as we were going to go there for our dating anniversary before our wedding, and our BM retired. So, no one there will honor this promise because it was never written into the contract. FH and I are pretty annoyed that this, plus a few other things our BM promised, won't be honored b/c he no longer works there and there's no paper trail for his promises.

I'm going to talk to Jenn at our menu meeting about some of the other promises and make sure we get everything in writing.

Good luck with getting in touch w/ your BM. I hope this works out for you and your FH!!!

I left a message with Susan yesterday. She went home sick yesterday and won't be back in the office until Saturday.

I booked with her, and had my dinner at Rose Hunt. The dinner was not free, the appetizers and drinks were, though.

To clarify I wasn't promised a free dinner... I was only promised free appetizers and drinks... I set it up earlier in the day with Jenn and Susan signed off on it when we came in... No problems with the bill at all. My whole party (4 of us) got two rounds of drinks and apps.

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I checked the 2009 price quote thread, and couldn't find it. Does any one have price quotes for the Fox Hollow for November 2009? FH and I want to move the wedding up if we can, but if it's the same price... we might just leave as is. We're looking to save money and get married in a more off-peak month.

i dont have 09 quotes, but i would imagine it would be cheaper since you'll be getting and 09 price instead of the 2010 price, but it couldnt hurt to call up your BM and ask!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

This may sound totally dumb but I really have no idea about these things. . .At fox hollow, do they just set up the tables for the number of guests that are coming or do they also have a card table, and tables for guest books, wishbowls etc already in the room? In other words, do I have to ask for those to be included or are they already in the reception room the day of your wedding? I'm so confused and anal about everything lol that these are the kinds of things that go through my head!

They do set up according to the number of guests you will have. They will set up a table for your escort cards and for anything else you need displayed. Im not sure what a wishbowl is so i dont know about that- but you should def ask them. When you go for your final meeting, just tell them what you will be bringing with you and need displayed.

Thank you so much! This thread is the best thing ever lol. Also, does anyone know how far in advance you should block rooms?

P.S.- You girls have been so helpful. Thank you!

did it say every banquet manager has their own - or each room has their own????

they have table numbers for you to use - we didn't do anything fancy with them...we used what they gave us & they were fine.

IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS - table numbers are NOTHING....

come on girls - keep focused! Who's going to remember a table number or the frame it was in???

Sorry for the mini-rant - but the boards are making me very sad lately...seeing people and the things they worry about that are just deplorable (in my opinion).

We're thinking about it... either November or January. We're meeting with Richard on Saturday morning, so we may stop by and see our BM too. We've called and left messages for her, but haven't heard back yet. I was told she was out of the office until Monday, so we'll see what happens.

At the last showcase we went to we won a free night at the FH Inn, but we're not sure when we can use it... so there's a lot of stuff going on that we need to straighten out. I live SO close to FH the room isn't worth it if we can't use it for our wedding night. (We were told we could, but when I checked the certificate it expires in June 2009). So we've got a call in for that, too.

Wow.. ok- my post was actually pretty much in the same spirit as yours.. so you can chill out.. I saw all of the other posts and was a little confused that it was even something that I had to think about it.. because to me, that's something that should just be automatically provided by the venue and not anything I would have to even THINK about.. but the fact that people were discussing it in such depth made me think that perhaps it was not just provided and there was some sort of action required on my part.

Obviously not and I thank you for answering my question. If I didn't make myself entirely clear, I apologize for that.. but otherwise, yeah, I'm with you.. I have enough to worry about besides table numbers...

Please know i wasn't lashing out at you...i was just overall frustrated! there are some other posts that have been making me VERY upset & i replied to your post at that time!

i quoted your post simply because you asked about the different BM's having different frames...and i didn't think that was the right info.

I promise - it was nothing personal at all and i'm sorry that you took it that way! I didn't mean for it to be taken that way at all...

I have just been seeing some INSANE posts lately about all kinds of different, silly things that are making me feel like i'm crazy & living in some alternate world.

All that matters is that you are marrying the man of your dreams in a beautiful place like the Fox Hollow....nothing else really matters!

Not to take this too far off topic... on my home board (2010 brides) I ask a lot of specific questions about all sorts of minute details... because 3/4s of this stuff I hadn't even HEARD OF before I signed onto LIW. By asking the question I get an idea of what I want and what I don't want.... Maybe that's what you're seeing? Maybe it isn't...

I was never a girly-girl and seriously, I'm pretty low-maintenance, but I'm planning a day where I marry the man I love more than more than anything else on this earth. 100+ of my closest friends are going to witness this awesome event.... so I want to ask all about the details now so I get it as close to perfect as I possibly can.

In the grand scheme of things does it matter what color the table frames are? No, not at all... but I can see people asking about it so they can have an idea of what they're going to do.

THAT being said, you've been an awesome resource in this particular topic (and others) and seem to be well loved on the BHB so I value your opinion as someone who's 'been there, done that'.

Re: Table number frames - they will make the numbers for you and provide frames. I spoke to Jennifer, the last-meeting-coordinator (not sure of her official title) and she told me that each BM has their own set. Not each room. So when a BM is assigned to your wedding (not sure how far in advance this is done, but I am guessing they would know who your BM is at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding date), THAT'S when you could find out, if it matters to you, what color your frames would be. I am going for a fall theme and it does matter to me, but it may not matter to others.
