Why Do Couples Get Married? Why Do They Divorce?

...And What MUST You Do To Stay In Love?!?!?
Here are just a few reasons couples give for wanting to get married -
1. To have companionship
2. To have children
3. To create a home
4. To have security - both financial and emotional
5. To keep friends who got married
6. To have sex available, etc.
But many are not even aware of the most important reason. Can you guess the most important reason people get married? What has been missing for most since childhood?
TO BE LOVED UNCONDITIONALLY!
There is nothing like being a fetus or an infant - even though adults need exactly the same love. And why do they divorce - because 50% stop loving each other unconditionally and conditional, unloving behaviors alienate people sooner or later. As you know - it's not where you start - it's where you finish. Without going to 'Relationship School' where are couples supposed to acquired the right tools and concepts to keep the unconditional magic of their dating/honeymoon period on track? Not by watching Sleepless in Seattle - family members - or listening to love songs. We are all left to our own devices - generation after generation - watching the divorce rate go up, while the younger generation is so dismayed they settle more and more for living together. Clearly the skills that are available to love unconditionally haven't gotten into couples hands, yet.
Being UNCONDITIONAL does not mean accepting unloving behavior. Just the opposite. If we love someone who behaves unlovingly the best way to love them is to help them become aware of and stop that behavior. Just think about people who enable drug habits or alcohol consumption by people who clearly have a problem - is that love or is it from fear of upsetting or losing them? Wouldn't those addicts be more loved if people said this is not acceptable and get some help. Same with unloving behavior.
