Have you ever wondered how a wedding dress is preserved? We spoke to Jessica at Prestige Preservation and she filled us in our their expert process:
In our hands your dress is expertly looked over by one of our trained wedding gown specialists for any imperfections, such as loose beads, missing buttons or any stains that may have occurred on your big day. Then it is expertly cleaned and pressed. After another look over by our specialist to make sure that all repairs and stains have been carefully addressed we can then start the most exciting part of our services. The Preservation!
Here’s how: Your dress is carefully sealed in an acid free inner box with ph free and acid free paper. This box helps control the humidity from penetrating to the gown. Then the oxygen is removed and replaced with nitrogen and inert gas. This makes it virtually impossible for oxidation to occur. Our sealed packaging protects your gown from mold, mildew and insect damage. Also our boxes allow viewing of your gown and veil at any time without disrupting the preservation process. Finally, the inner box is placed in a durable long-term storage chest for additional safety.
