Daddy Dearest: Dressing For Success On Your Child’s Wedding Day
May 22, 2017 11:07 AM Back
Whether you’re the father of the bride or groom, It’s YOUR little boy or girl that the spotlight is shining on…and that means the spotlight will also be shining on YOU…so you DO want to be well groomed for the very special “I Dos”.
1. REPRESENT: You ARE your child’s representative…so, depending on the type of celebration they are hosting it’s up to you to set the tone and the standard. For formal events you should step it up and go for the all-conventional tux, while less formal fetes mean you can sport a pair of dress pants and a sport coat…but it’s best that you keep it simple, sophisticated and classy.
2. Make A Statement By Keeping It “Understated”: Remember, that while you are setting the standard (for the wedding party and wedding guests) it’s best that you don’t out-groom the groom. After all he is the main man of the event.
3. Match Game Statements: Make sure you consult with the couple and make sure your style coincides with their wishes and vision. You’ll also want to make sure that you fit in with the theme and bridal party…even though it’s technically YOUR job to set the standard….it’s probably best to always check. You’ll also want to make sure you compliment the mother of the bride (or the lady by your side).
