“LUCKY” Couples: St. Patrick’s Day Wedding Inpsirations
Mar 16, 2017 03:38 PM Back
It’s no secret that St. Paddy’s Day…just around the corner, promises revelers of this famous celebration the “luck of the Irish”. So, for couples tying the knot on the day of this traditional Celtic celebration…here are a few inspirational ways that make it easy to be green, even if just for a day or a few hours.
1. Think shamrocks and horseshoes for save-the-dates, invites, napkins, and lots of other accents
2. Go for the green when it comes to bouquets, flower arrangements and tablescapes. Opt for Green roses, green amaryllis and other green blossoms that happen to be in full bloom.
3. Green, glamorous green. Give green shamrock or four-leaf clover pins to your gals. Consider wearing green jewelry or even four leaf clover or horseshoe earrings, etc. And, for boys, how about horseshoe or shamrock tie pins or cuff links. Think Claddagh rings in lieu of traditional weddings bands, especially if you herald from Celtic decent.
4. Tie one on with rad plaid ties for your oh-so-“Irish” gents. You may also want to add a plaid pocket square while you’re at it.
5. Caps for chaps. Nothing says Irish like an authentic tweed cap to cap off a real Irish ensemble.
6. Serve up some authentic Irish cuisine. Think corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mas , rustic slow-cooker beef stew (for cool weather celebrations) for your main course…and for sides: colcannon, corn o’brian, or mashed peas.
You can add Irish soda bread to your dessert table or give it away with authentic Irish jam as a delicious wedding favor.
7. Pour on the fun by keeping (plenty of) Guinness and meade on tap.
8. Treat your guests to some “fancy feets”. Consider dancers that can entertain guests with some fancy Irish footwork or have you and your groom (maybe even your wedding party) take some lessons and put on a show with some choreographed Irish step dancing.
