Passing Out Favors
Feb 17, 2013 03:14 PM Back By Majestic Gardens
It is customary for the bride and groom to give out favors to their guests to thank them for attending thier wedding. While the favors can take many different forms, the couple must decide how the favors are to be distributed.

Traditionally, the couple actually handed the favors to their guests as they departed. As you can imagine, many times the couple spent the last hour of the reception passing out the favors rather than dancing and mingling with their guests.

Today, it is customary to place the favors on the guest tables either at each place setting or if the favors are to be distriubted per couple rather then per guests, they are placed artistically on the table. Some couples incorporate the favors into the seating cards by attaching the card to the favor (candy boxes) or displaying the card in the favors (picture frame).

If the favors are large and you believe that placing them on the guest tables will take away from your table linens and centerpieces, consider displaying the favors on a table with a framed thank you sign, inviting your guests to take a favor. This usually works well when you have a favor for each guest. If you plan on distriubting one favor per couple, then you might consider having the favors distributed by the catering staff after the main course or the wedding cake is served.

Some couples still want the personal touch of thanking the guests when distriubting the favors so they assign their bridesmaids to hand out the favors and thank the guests for attending.
