When Should You Book Your Makeup Artist?

It doesn't pay to procrastinate. I've received a number of calls from frantic brides who have not yet booked makeup services and their weddings are a month away, a week away...and yes...even tomorrow!!
A beautiful bride I worked with today booked her trial yesterday...and lucky for her she was pleased and I was open for today. But others are not so fortunate. I had a bride contact me, with her wedding only two weeks away and she was displeased with her first trial with another makeup artist. She reached out to me hoping I was available.
While it is not the first vendor most brides look at when planning a wedding, I recommend contacting a makeup artist about six months out from your wedding date (one year if your wedding is on a holiday weekend). The best makeup artists book up quickly, so get your reservations in early, or you might find yourself stuck running to the MAC counter on your wedding day :(
